I recently downloaded PowerZip. This became necessary when a friend sent me some pictures she had taken at a recent dogshow. She uses an Olympus (digital) camera with tons of bells and whistles. I can't convince here she can get good quality pictures at lower settings. So her pictures more closely resemble posters, not photos. She sent the same group using Compuserve to a friend, who like me, is on Juno. Compuserve takes the 6 pic's, zips them, then sends them as 1 file. I was unable to open the file. When I asked my Juno buddy how she opened the Zip file, her response indicated she wasn't at all sure, she just followed some directions. When I asked her what zip product she was using, she didn't even know she had one.

I found your product by doing a simple search for zip files on the web. There were several of course. I chose your product simply because I liked what I saw. Price was a consideration of course, but there were other factors. Anyhow, the download went smooth, the Product Key activation went smooth, and I couldn't believe how quickly that big old file became 6 files that I could manage with ease.

I enjoy using your product. I have used it now for about 1 1/2 years. One improvement I would like to see, is less steps creating self extracting EXE's-----stream line the process. I consider myself a power user, but found the Self Extracting Wizard confusing at first. The occasional user would never figure it out. Overall you have a very good product that I will continue to use. Your customer service is also very good, which is an important part of any software that I purchase.

Our Comments: The Self-Extractor Wizard has been replaced with Self-Extractor Properties in PowerZip 5.2. This has allowed us to make it easier to use by giving us more dialog box space to explain the features. It has also made creating self-extracting archives much quicker by allowing the user to skip the options he or she doesn't need.

"Well it's not what I expected! unfortunately shortly after purchasing the program it wouldn't work so I had to remove it and wait for the latest release which did not come out on time !!! like with the latest version ! which will not come out on time also!!! so instead of buying a new zip program ...or waiting who knows how long for trident to release a working version I've decided to just keep my old zip program which after 3 years now is still working great with no problems ! unlike Powerless Zip by Trident! so I've chalked that up to another bad purchase and another rip off !!! Our Comments: The fundamental principle behind shareware is to give the users the opportunity to try the software before buying it. Mr. Kovach, as every other user, was given that opportunity. If the program "wouldn't work" it does make us wonder why he purchased it in first place. We have offered Mr. Kovach a full refund (even though he has purchased PowerZip almost a year ago) and asked him to explain what the actual problem was (we have examined all e-mails we received from him and it looks like the problem he was experiencing was resolved in v4.52 which he himself has confirmed) but have received no reply so far. There have been delays in releasing PowerZip 5.01 and PowerZip 5.2 - our policy was, is and will continue to be that we would rather ship a good product tomorrow and than a sloppy one today.
